Pressure washing and line marking project for Swissport Cargo Services

Some projects call for more than one service to get the best result. That was the case at Swissport Cargo Services, where the condition of the site meant the most effective solution was a full turnaround approach combining pressure washing, fresh line marking and supporting signage.

Some projects call for more than one service to get the best result. That was the case at Swissport Cargo Services, where the condition of the site meant the most effective solution was a full turnaround approach combining pressure washing, fresh line marking and supporting signage.

The car park had become heavily affected by moss, algae, dirt and general build-up, which was impacting both appearance and day-to-day safety. Our recommendation was to first carry out professional pressure washing to clean the surface properly, then follow up with fresh line marking and signage to help keep the area clear, organised and safer for staff and members of the public.

A full site improvement from cleaning to marking

This was a true turnkey operation, with every stage of the work designed to improve how the site looked and functioned.

The first step was pressure washing the car park to remove the built-up grime, moss and algae that had accumulated over time. Cleaning the surface properly created a much better base for the next stage of the project and helped restore the area visually at the same time.

Once the surface had been cleaned, we installed fresh line markings to improve the layout and make the car park easier to use. We also added line marking signage to reinforce the layout and help make expectations clearer for everyone using the space.

By combining pressure washing and line marking in one coordinated project, we were able to deliver a more complete result than either service would have achieved on its own.

Reducing slip hazards on the pedestrian walkway

Alongside the car park works, we also pressure-washed the pedestrian walkway leading to the offices. The build-up on this surface had started to create slip hazard risks, so cleaning it thoroughly was an important part of improving safety around the site.

This is one of the key benefits of professional pressure washing on commercial sites. It is not just about appearance – it also helps deal with the moss, algae and surface contamination that can make walkways and access routes slippery and less safe to use.

For busy sites with regular foot traffic, keeping pedestrian areas clean and well maintained can make a real difference.

Why combining pressure washing and line marking makes sense

Projects like this show the value of looking at the site as a whole. If a surface is heavily affected by dirt, grime or organic growth, cleaning it first can dramatically improve both safety and the overall finish of the project. Once the area is clean and clearly marked, it becomes easier to manage, easier to navigate and more professional in appearance.

At Vantage Surfaces, we provide pressure washing across Coventry and the surrounding areas, alongside nationwide line marking for commercial, industrial and public-facing sites. For customers with sites that need both cleaning and marking work, a joined-up approach can often be the most practical and cost-effective option.

Supporting safer, clearer commercial environments

For Swissport Cargo Services, the project was about more than refreshing the look of the site. It was about creating a cleaner, safer and more clearly organised environment for everyone using it.

That included:

  • pressure washing the car park to remove moss, algae, dirt and grime
  • preparing the area for fresh line marking
  • installing new markings to improve layout and organisation
  • adding signage to reinforce the intended use of the space
  • pressure washing the pedestrian walkway to reduce slip risks near the offices

The end result was a much cleaner, safer and more functional site, with improvements that supported both vehicles and pedestrians.

A combined service approach for commercial sites

We often work with commercial customers who need more than one type of surface improvement. In some cases, that means pressure washing a site before marking it. In others, it might mean cleaning walkways, entrances or shared areas as part of a wider safety and presentation upgrade.

As with our projects at the CBS Arena and Loughborough University, the aim is always to provide practical surface solutions that improve the way a site works in real life. Whether that means clearer access, safer crossings, dedicated bays or cleaner walkways, we focus on delivering work that has a visible and lasting impact.
