After completing our line marking work at the CBS Arena, we were approached by the same car parking management company to help with further improvements at Loughborough University.
Having seen the impact of the CBS project, they asked us to carry out a series of line marking updates across multiple sites within the university. The aim was the same: improve clarity, support safer movement around site and make sure key areas were being used as intended.
Refreshing a pedestrian crossing at the swimming pool
The first part of the work was at the Loughborough University Swimming Pool, where we were asked to refresh the pedestrian crossing and add a NO ENTRY marking to support a one-way traffic system.
This was an important safety-led improvement for a busy public-facing area used by students, staff and visitors. By renewing the crossing markings and making the traffic flow clearer, the site became easier to navigate and safer for everyone using it.
This kind of project is a good example of how line marking supports more than just parking. Clear road and safety markings play an important role in helping busy environments function properly, especially where pedestrian movement and vehicle access need to work side by side.
Additional works across two further university sites
Following the swimming pool works, we were asked to complete line marking at two further sites within the university.
One of these was a straightforward five-bay refresh, but with the addition of LOADING ONLY markings. The purpose was to make the intended use of the bays much clearer and help avoid disruption caused by unauthorised parking.
The second site involved marking out fresh bays along with LOADING ONLY markings. Although metal signage was already in place, the client wanted the markings to be reinforced on the surface itself, as the existing signs were being overlooked. By adding clear bay markings and visible wording on the ground, the spaces became much easier to identify and use correctly.
